On this day 112 years ago, on April 3. 1913, SS Vaterland was launched at Blohm & Voss at Hamburg, Germany on 3 April 1913 in a ceremony performed by Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria! Intended passenger capacity of 4,050 was to be 700 first, 600 second, 1,050 third and 1,700 fourth class passengers.
