The Marines' Hymn is the oldest official song in the United States Armed Forces. It is typically sung at the position of attention as a gesture of respect and every Marine vet knows to snap to attention whenever the hymn is being played. There is only one non-military organization allowed to use the hymn, Western Illinois University, who plays it before all football games.
