59 years ago today, on October 24, 1966, "Bakersfield Sound" pioneer Wynn Stewart recorded "It's Such A Pretty World Today". It became his only #1 hit, topping the Billboard country singles chart in 1967. It spent two weeks at number one and was also named the Academy of Country Music's Song of the Year.
