Feral goats live in Islay, chomping away on seaweed. They’re not native to Scotland, and came, like sheep, from that sweep of land between Turkey and Turkmenistan. Some of these goats became feral when they were released by their crofting owners during the Highland Clearances. There’s not many of them around, mostly they’re here in Islay or on the mainland in Dumfries and Galloway.
