Carmelite nuns came to Erie in 1957 and prayed here for more than 60 years until their monastery closed. Now the building has been torn down.

Cloistered Carmelite sisters lived and prayed in an Erie County monastery for more than 60 years. The monastery closed in 2020 and was demolished in 2026.
