The third of three storms that raked across the capital region and California dropped nearly an inch of rain on parts of Sacramento overnight and more than an inch in the Sierra foothills, with fresh snow piling up in higher elevations. And another weather system is taking aim at Northern California later this week.

Kansas City’s rain chances go from 20% Wednesday evening to 55% and 60% on Thursday. Rain chances on Friday drop from 60% in the morning to 40% in the afternoon and then 20% in the evening. The metro has a 38% chance of an inch or more of rain from Thursday through Friday overnight, according to the weather service.
