The South Florida Water Management District's new incentive program seems to be working with nearly 100 snakes eliminated so far in 2025.

A second vote on the hunt must be taken by the state in August, but all indications point to a 187-quota hunt that could last about a month.

This week's annual python hunt focuses on the Everglades but some of these invasive snakes slither around in Brevard County.
