A new study suggests that millions of tiny space rock fragments, which were ejected from the deliberate 2022 collision between the asteroid Dimorphos and NASA's DART spacecraft, may be on a collision course with Earth and Mars.

Researchers have reportedly preemptively named the new meteor shower they could create "Dimorphids." In October, the ESA is slated to launch a follow-up flight to the Didymos system to get a close-up survey of the aftermath of the DART impact.
