Humberto, no longer a hurricane, is not expected to make landfall in the U.S., but the East Coast could still see some impacts.
HURRICANE HELENE'S PATH The fast-moving storm kept its momentum and stayed a hurricane all the way into central Georgia, leaving an 800-mile path of destruction.
He noted that Humberto pulled Imelda away from the U.S. East Coast in what’s known as the Fujiwhara Effect, a rare phenomenon in the Atlantic in which two storms are so close together that they start rotating counterclockwise around each other.
Hurricane Imelda formed Tuesday, Sept. 30, off the Florida coast. The Category 1 hurricane is expected to strengthen.
Swells and high surf from both Imelda and Hurricane Humberto are expected to bring dangerous marine conditions and rip currents along much of Florida and the East Coast of the United States during the next several days. ➤ Weather alerts via text: Sign up to get updates about current storms and weather events by location
