A July Fourth weekend deluge in Texas caused catastrophic flash flooding that has killed more than 80 people. Camp Mystic in Kerr County says Monday morning that it is “grieving the loss” of 27 campers and counselors as the search continues for victims of the disaster.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott says at least 109 people are dead and 161 people are still missing due to the catastrophic flooding that ravaged the Texas Hill Country. Kerr County officials were pressed today over why there is no county-wide siren system to warn people about natural disasters like flash flooding.

The storms that battered the Hill Country for the last four days began to lighten up, although isolated pockets of heavy rain were still possible.
