The grocery company Kroger is shutting down 60 locations in the wake of labor unrest, a failed merger and the chief executive's resignation.

Costco stores will be closed on July 4. Most Sam’s Club locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 4. Check your local store's hours in advance. Most Kroger locations are expected to have regular hours. Meijer stores will stay open on Independence Day.

Walmart will be open on the Fourth of July, with most stores operating on their regular business hours. Store hours may vary by location.
