US Department of Labor has urged companies to end H-1B abuse and hire American workers, following President Donald Trump’s order imposing a $100,000 fee on H-1B visa applications. The announcement comes alongside Trump’s new “Gold Card” visa program.

The Labor Department reported Tuesday that job openings blipped up to 7.23 million from 7.21 million in July. Economists had forecast a drop to 7.1 million.
