President Donald Trump plans to give a speech at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland on Wednesday. The speech, which starts at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time, comes just days after Trump threatened to impose tariffs on eight European countries until the U.
The president is expected to emphasize housing affordability and unveil an expanded role for his Gaza "Board of Peace."
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump will be “talking about all of the great economic news,” including mortgage rates falling below 6%.
Trump is holding a signing ceremony, an event sure to be overshadowed by speculation around possible military strikes against Iran.
Trump's speech, which is expected to start around or after 2 p.m., marks his first visit to Michigan in 2026, and his third visit to the DEC. He previously delivered campaign addresses in August 2016 and October 2024 when the DEC invited both major party presidential candidates to speak, reports Natalie Davies.
Donald Trump is expected to speak in the morning local time in Switzerland. This would place the speech in the late afternoon or early evening in India.
