A tropical storm in the Pacific Ocean is expected to remain at sea far from land during the forecast period. The National Hurricane Center in Miami announced Tropical Storm Octave on Tuesday

Surf. Swells generated by Tropical Storm Imelda and Hurricane Humberto are affecting the Bahamas and are currently spreading to much of the U.S. east coast. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.

Unfortunately for Bermuda, Imelda's sharp easterly turn puts the island in the path of this potentially dangerous storm. Bermuda already has a Tropical Storm Watch in effect as the outer bands of Humberto brush the island with gusty winds, and now a Hurricane Watch is likely to be issued for the future effects of Imelda.
