ABS is set to be implemented for spring training, the regular season and the playoffs. Teams will have two challenges, initiated by a pitcher, catcher or batter, in a process that takes about 15 seconds. If any part of the ball touches the zone, it is considered a strike. Successful challenges will be retained.
Human umpires will still make calls, but a team's pitcher, batter, or catcher has two chances to challenge the call, which is when the human umpire will defer to the robot umpire. Some say this will be a good addition to the majors.
