In a gym filled with students and staff, Ashleigh Eadie was recognized as the 2025 beginning teacher of the year. Eadie is a first grade teacher at Havelock Elementary.

Every month during the school year, 10/11 and Doane University present the Golden Apple Award to a deserving teacher. For September, the winner comes from Lincoln Public Schools.
