TORRINGTON - A reward up to $2,500 has been offered for information that could identify and catch the person responsible for the a blaze that broke out abandoned industrial buildings over the weekend, police said.

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible for the fire.

Eight people were hospitalized after a residential building in western Germany was destroyed in an explosion on Thursday. The incident took place in the town of Daaden, south-east of Cologne.

Several fire departments responded to the two-alarm fire after the call came in just after 7 p.m. The fire quickly spread through the structure. No injuries were reported and firefighters saved all three cats from the residence. The building is considered a total loss.
