Netflix added a full slate of Alfred Hitchcock movies to its library in June, including “Vertigo,” “Rear Window,” and “The Birds,” the terrifying 1963 film starring Tippi Hedren. The drama builds slowly but deliberately, as Melanie (Hedren) meets Mitch (Rod Taylor) buying a pair of lovebirds.

July is a pretty slow month for new releases, with a few notable exceptions, such as Netflix’s Adam Sandler sequel “Happy Gilmore 2,” a new season of Apple’s “Foundation” and Max’s streaming premiere of the box-office hit “Sinners.
