Typhoon Bualoi has killed at least 11 people and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes in the centre and north of Vietnam, state media reported. Dozens are missing or injured after the typhoon made landfall on Sunday night, flooding roads, washing away bridges and tearing roofs off buildings before weakening and moving into neighbouring Laos.
Typhoon Bualoi tore through Vietnam's coast on Monday, killing at least 13 people and injuring 46, the government said, while accompanying strong winds and rains damaged homes, snapped power links and flooded roads.
Typhoon Ragasa whipped waves taller than lampposts onto Hong Kong promenades and turned seas rough on the southern Chinese coast after leaving deadly destruction in Taiwan and the Philippines.
Schools and flights were canceled across southern China and many businesses were closed ahead of the storm, one of the world’s strongest this year.
