Russia has rejected parts of a United States proposal to end the war with Ukraine, a top Russian official said early Wednesday morning, following five hours of talks between President Trump’s top envoys and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

BRUSSELS - However Donald Trump’s latest push to end the war in Ukraine pans out, Europe fears the prospect of a deal – sooner or later – that will not punish or weaken Russia as its leaders had hoped, placing the continent’s security in greater jeopardy.

President Donald Trump says Ukraine and Russia are making progress in peace talks but called the conflict difficult to solve on Tuesday night.

Moscow and Beijing have played to the president’s dealmaking, rattling America’s security partners.
