AVONDALE, AZ — Firefighters are working to contain a fire that ignited in brush near ISM Raceway on Thursday. The fire burned and quickly grew in brush near El Mirage Road and the Gila River bottom.
The fire has burned about 500 acres, and the Avondale Fire Department says some homes have been forced to evacuate as a precaution.
