According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Celtics have expressed interest in Memphis Grizzlies star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.

The Celtics have been linked with Jaren Jackson Jr. in recent trade rumors, but the Grizzlies have little interest in making a deal.

The Celtics are in the market for a big man, but one rumored option seems highly unlikely on the trade market.

Amid Ja Morant trade talks, Jaren Jackson Jr. remains a player the Memphis Grizzlies want to build with, according to an ESPN report. However, that stance hasn’t stopped various teams across the league from registering interest in Jackson Jr, including the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics, league sources told HoopsHype.

"The Boston Celtics would love to add Jaren Jackson Jr.," writes Matt Moore. "There is no team I’ve heard with more interest for Jackson."

The Memphis Grizzlies are ready and willing to talk Ja Morant trades. When potential poachers come calling, though, that won't be their preferred conversation of choice.
