Google is adding a new window tiling feature to Android tablets with an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) update. It will improve multitasking and integrate Android tablets better with keyboards and mice.

Now, in a new blog post, Google has detailed a key new feature users can start tinkering with, exclusively on tablets. The tech giant introduced desktop windowing with the Android 15 QPR 1 Beta 2, available now on the Pixel tablet, and expected to be available more widely in the future.

As tablets get more and more powerful – to the point where they'll double laptops and desktops – they'll also look more and more like "traditional" computers.

First spotted by Mishaal Rahman on X/Twitter and now formally announced by Google on its beta subreddit, Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 is in the process of releasing to the beta channel for Pixels. This new version carries a build number of AP41.

Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 fully rolls out the ability to limit battery charging to 80% for Pixel devices. With Beta 1, some users saw a notification about enabling the new charge limit, but were unable to turn it off.
