The company buried the news in its announcement Monday morning about the premiere date for the film F1, which will debut on the platform Dec. 12.
Compounding potential consumer confusion, Apple now applies the "Apple TV" name to three separate products: the streaming service (formerly Apple TV+), the TV app and a digital media box.
The streaming service, now called Apple TV, announced the change Monday at the bottom of a press release about something else — the streaming debut of the movie “ F1 .” “Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV, with a vibrant new identity,” the streamer said in the release.
