A Virginia state-run liquor store was ransacked by a masked bandit on Friday evening, authorities said, leaving a trail of broken spirit bottles strewn across the shop floor. The heist began when the raccoon wiggled in through the ceiling of the Ashland store location of the Virginia ABC chain sometime between when the store closed Friday night and early Saturday morning,
The raccoon entered the ABC liquor store in Ashland, Va., through the ceiling early Saturday morning. “It wreaked havoc,” said Carol Mawyer, the public relations manager for Virginia ABC. “It broke several bottles and consumed the spirits.”

Officer Martin from Animal Protection arrived at the scene, safely secured the trash panda and transported it to the shelter, the post said. After several hours, staff observed “zero signs of injury," and with a clean bill of health, the raccoon was released back into the wild.
Hanover County Animal Protection released the intoxicated animal back to the wild after it sobered up from its weekend adventure at a local ABC Store.
