Israel said Tuesday that Palestinian militants had handed over human remains to the Red Cross, which will deliver them next to the country's military.

Israeli forensic examiners have identified the remains of a deceased Israeli hostage returned from Gaza as those of Dror Or, the prime minister’s office said on Wednesday.

Israel handed over the bodies of 15 Palestinians on Wednesday, one day after Hamas returned the remains of an Israeli hostage as part of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire reached last month. The International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed it helped transfer the bodies to Gaza.
