Penn State earned its first Big Ten win of the season Saturday evening, defeating Michigan State in Spartan Stadium, 28-10, to move to 4-6 and keep its bowl eligibility hopes alive. Let’s take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly for the Nittany Lions.
“Yeah, the buy-in has been awesome,” interim head coach Terry Smith said. He offered an example of “one of our older guys” who asked Smith if Penn State had plans to practice the first weekend of December because he has a family conflict. The Lions need to beat the Cornhuskers and then Rutgers in the regular season finale to become bowl eligible.
Smith, who won his first game as PSU's interim head coach vs. Michigan State, is getting the Lions prepped for Saturday's home visit from Nebraska.
Penn State finally snapped its six-game losing streak with a controlled 28-10 win at Michigan State on Saturday at Spartan Stadium, claiming the Land Grant Trophy for the third consecutive year for the first time since 2004-06.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Penn State men's basketball coach Mike Rhoades has announced the signing of forward Jamison "Jamo" White. White is a 6-foot-8 forward from East St. Louis Senior High School in Illinois. He is ranked as a four-star forward and the No. 3 player in the state of Missouri by ESPN.
Kaytron Allen’s effort vs. Michigan State on Saturday in East Lansing? Not bad. We are kidding. Penn State’s running back was exceptional in PSU’s 28-10 victory. Allen, given the necessary workload, has been the Nittany Lions’ best player during his final season.
Penn State still must win its final two games, vs. Nebraska and at Rutgers, to be eligible to play in a bowl game. But if they get there, the Nittany Lions likely would find their best option at Yankee Stadium for the Pinstripe Bowl, where it played in 2014.
