A pipeline fire that forced hundreds of people to flee their homes in the Houston suburbs is burning for a third day, with officials saying they don’t expect it to be extinguished until sometime Thurs

Over 36 hours after the blast — which shot towering flames like a blowtorch above the suburbs of Deer Park and La Porte — authorities have provided few details about the circumstances leading up to the explosion.

A Deer Park spokesperson said four people were injured, but provided no details about the seriousness of the injuries. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.

The fire shot orange flame and then black smoke hundreds of feet into the air, prompting authorities to evacuate nearly 1,000 homes.

Evacuation orders have been lifted for residents in Deer Park, near the fire. The fire has been burning since Monday.
