The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) terminated its contract to buy the La Quinta Inn in the city and turn it into a homeless shelter. The votes came during a special meeting Thursday morning and after the city council rejected a Special Use Permit (SUP) for it after a lengthy meeting that began Tuesday night and went into Wednesday morning.
