A majority of Federal Reserve policymakers expressed support in late October for further interest rate cuts, though not all committed to making the reduction at their next meeting in December, according to minutes released Wednesday.

President Trump said he may have decided who he wants to select to be the next chair of the Federal Reserve. “I think I already know my choice,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. But Trump didn’t reveal who he would choose.

The adjustment means the eventual jobs report won’t include a figure for the unemployment rate, which stands at 4.3% as of August. The Chicago Fed, using a blend of private and public data sources, estimates that the unemployment rate was 4.36%, or 4.4% on a rounded basis, in October.
