"The Moment," music video director Aidan Zamiri's fascinating, funny and messily self-reflexive feature debut, was never going to actually be about Charli XCX. Yes, the acclaimed British singer and songwriter is playing a version of herself.

The composer, producer, DJ, and all-around fixer on Charli’s gloriously messy mockumentary, which premiered at Sundance Friday.

Charli XCX wants us to know it’s “OK to be vulnerable and volatile and a mess, and that those are all just normal human emotions.” This was part of her mission in making her behind-the-curtain comedy mockumentary The Moment which premiered at Sundance on Friday.
