Quake hits San Juan Bautista in Central California
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 struck Central California on Thanksgiving Day, according to the US Geological Survey.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - A preliminary 3.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Idyllwild Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It’s been a full week of earthquakes in California, including a 4.1 near Templeton that triggered an alert for residents. “This week is a bit busy,” Minson said. “But earthquakes are not uniformly spaced out in space and time, so this is all within the normal variation for earthquakes.”
Two earthquakes shook near Idyllwild in Riverside County’s San Jacinto Mountains on Thursday evening, Nov. 27. The first earthquake hit around 5:36 p.m. with a magnitude 3.8, according to the Southern California Earthquake Data Center. A second one was felt seconds later with a magnitude of 3.5.
