Coney Island's 'Cyclone' will remain out of service till all necessary repairs are complete and the roller coaster passes a new inspection.

Thrillseekers will have to look elsewhere for their adrenaline rush. The famed Coney Island Cyclone rollercoaster was shut down mid-ride. A damaged chain sprocket in the motor room is to blame, according to operators.

The 97-year-old roller coaster, a New York landmark, was taken out of service temporarily after a crack was detected in its machinery.
