Chain saw cord yanks out of my hand when I try to start it.
WEBAug 3, 2007 · This would be my guess. Bouncing around in the tractor may have caused the carb to overflow with fuel that went into the cylinder. Think hydro-lock. If its enough fuel to partially fill the cylinder and not allow air in and out, you basically have a hydraulic cylinder thats unable to flow.

Stihl HP Ultra - anyone have issues with this Oil

One of them concerned an insufficient amount of oil film in the crankcase. (That person fixes chainsaws). I have had a Stihl chainsaw go bad on me that had minimal hours on it.

This is when I try to pull fast to start the saw; you can pull the recoil slowly through each compression stage. Taking the plug out the saw pulls normally.

Insure the carb gasket (still seated in this pic) is still fitted over the threaded rods: Stihl part numbers for new fuel pick-up: 0000-350-3500 and fuel line: 1123-358-7702: Reach into tank through filler hole with a small plastic autobody hook and fish the old pick-up out, then remove it.

WEBJul 19, 2019 · I ordered the Stihl 3/8” 2 in 1 chainsaw sharpener for my Husqvarna saw but it came with a 13/64 file. Unfortunately the files are not interchangeable so I returned it and bought the PFerd (they make the Stihl ones) 7/32” file 2 in 1 sharpener. Now this one says it’s for .404” chains on it.

The 029 is a slightly less powerful model in that it wears a smaller bore cylinder and therefore is less cc's. Don't know which way I would go in that situation since I can't see the 029.
