Is not excessively hard to push the base 8GB to the limits when using multiple apps, 20-30 tabs open, and zoom or google meets while taking notes; and that’s a kind of normal workflow when in School.

WEB16GB M3 is a superior option. 16GB is more than enough for Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop all running at the same time. m3 is very incremental meanwhile the extra ram may actually be handy if he’s doing this kind of work. But the M3 should give more battery life and be more snappy.
